To treat all of my fellow fishing buddies who cannot wait for the thaw to hit the frozen north so they can get back out on the water, Oncorhynchus rastrosus, better known as a saber toothed salmon.

These fish were huge, even by salmon standards. 2 meters in length, and packed sabers in their jaws because EVERYTHING had saber teeth back in the day. It was the skinny jeans of ice age and you had to be seen with them.

According to paleo-ichthyologists (prehistoric fish experts*), its closest living relative is the sockeye salmon. Which is darn tastey. More research, folks. More research right next to the lemon.

*Yes, that's really a thing.
